Meet Christa
Shortly after her third birthday, Christa was diagnosed with an aggressive pediatric neurological cancer. Her doctor gave her only one week to live. Treatment began immediately at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. "Christa was surrounded by a family of doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals who were close, caring and constantly involved," says Christa's mother. At the same time, Christa's family embraced the words "never give up" and fulfilled a promise to surround Christa with love and happiness.
Today, Christa shows no signs of cancer. She is a healthy and vibrant little girl who loves her big brother, her pet beagle Rosie, arts and crafts, and planting flowers in the yard. Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital offers young patients some of the finest cancer treatment. Every day our trusted professionals save the lives of young children just like Christa.
